The National League conference leaders series featured a rematch of the 2010 World Series teams the Legends and GDE. All 3 games were similar to the World Series games with runs being scored in furious fashion. In game 1 the Legends tallied 4 or more runs in all innings but the last, winning by a score of 26-20. Ben Cydrus picked up his 4th win on the mound while Jerry led the Legends attack with 6 HRs and 10 RBIs. Levi added 4 and 8 respectively while all 3 GDE players, Blake, Eric and Dave delivered 3 HRs each. In game 2 on field TLC GDE exploded with 8 runs in inning 2 to build a 10-4 which they did not relinquish, despite a furious 5th inning comeback by the Legends powered by a granny by Jerry and a 3 run HR by Levi. GDE won the second game of the series 16-15 to force a rubber game for the series win. In game 2 GDE was led by Dave Page who crushed 6 HRs for 7 RBIs while Big Time Eric Lewis went yard 5 time for 7 RBIs also and picked up the pitching win. The Legends were led by Jerry who smashed 5 HRs for 10 additional RBIs. The rubber game of the series looked to be another lopsided affair for GDE as they cruised to a 17-7 lead heading into the bottom of the 4th. The Legends exploded in the bottom half of the frame for 18 runs powered by 8 HRs in the inning, with Levi crushing 3, Jerry and Ben 2 each and Phill 1. For the game Levi led the Legends with 16 RBIs on 5 HRs, taking another place in the single game record book. For GDE, balanced contribution was again the byword as Eric crushed 5 HRs to go with his 10 RBIs while Dave and Blake both went yard 3 times. Jerry picked up the win in the 27-17 final.
The U squared off against the Knights in the other series of the night, with both teams hovering between the 3rd and 4th spot in their respective conferences - a very important distinction as the 3rd place teams will avoid playing the conference champ in the 1st series of the playoffs. The 1st game was a pitching duel with the Knights leading 3-1 heading into bottom of the 4th. The U put up 5 in the frame, thanks primarily to a 3 run bomb by Brent Hoover to secure the final margin of 7-3. Jordan Nelson also hit a 2 run HR while Nathan Rinehart added a 2 run shot for the Knights. John Kepler picked up his 2nd pitching win of the year for the U. Game 2 was an even closer affair with the Knights holding a 5-2 lead heading into the 5th and fending off a furious U rally that ended on a Shondrick Locklear drive to deep left with the tying run on 3rd base. Both Brent and Shondrick had 2 HRs in the loss while Amos Jones, Nathan Rinehard and Walter Schausiel all provided solo shots in the win for the Knights. Dustin Weaver picked up the win for the Knights, his 3rd of the year. The rubber game was true to form as the Knights held a 7-5 lead going into the bottom of the 5th. An Amos Jones HR to open the inning closed the gap to one run, but despite getting 2 runners on base and the tying run to 2nd with 1 out, the Knights were unable to score the tying and winning runs, allwoing thee U to win the series 2 - 1. Shondrick and Jordan both had solo HRs for the U who played small ball to win the game, while Amos Jones provided nearly all the spark for the Knights, delivering a key HR and 5 RBIs in the loss. Jordan Nelson picked up the victory to win the series and move the U one place ahead of Blade Sharp in the American League race.
